- Yoga is an ancient Indian system of breathing practices, physical exercises and postures intended to integrate calm the mind and strengthen the body. I offer basic Hatha Yoga instruction for beginners of any fitness level, as well as an Ashtanga Power Yoga practice which builds core strength, flexibility, physical endurance, and mental focus. Individual coaching, and group classes.
- Acupressure-Shiatsu is a Japanese method of applying pressure to key points on the body in order to relieve pain and promote health. It is similar to acupuncture, but without needles. It is especially good for digestive problems, insomnia, reproductive/menstrual problems, headaches, and pain that is worse with stress.
- Thai Joint Manipulation ("Thai Yoga Massage") uses passive stretching, rhythmic movement, and steady pressure to release tension and blockages in the body. Similar benefits to yoga, but you relax while I do the work. It is especially good for increasing flexibility in tight joints and releasing tension.
- Moxabustion involves gently warming the skin with burning dried herbs called "moxa". It is especially good for old injuries, infertility, fatigue, arthritis, and any condition that is affected by the weather. It is used extensively in traditional Japanese and Chinese healing.
- Cupping applies glass jars to the skin with suction. It is especially good for asthma, lingering respiratory conditions, detoxification, and persistent deep knots in the muscles.
- Relaxation Massage ("Swedish" Massage) involves rubbing and kneading the full body using a light oil or lotion, and moderate to light pressure. It is especially good for relieving stress, increasing circulation, and improving your relationship with your body.
- Deep Tissue Massage includes a more goal-oriented set of techniques which focus on specific muscles and connective tissue. It is especially good for chronic muscular tension, pain in the neck, back or shoulders, and pain from overuse or repetitive motions.
